✨ Day 17 — The secret of human weaving

The elves remained silent for a long time around the twisted hat.
There was nothing magical about it.
No light.
No thrills whatsoever.
And yet… Pipette sensed that he was carrying something important.

She placed her hand on it. Nothing happened: no spark, no image of the portal, only a gentle, calm, almost reassuring warmth.

Ludo sighed:
— “How can something so simple help us? It has no light like the red cap… It has no magic like Saint Lucia’s crown…”

Groubelin replied in a calm voice:
— “Perhaps magic isn’t always found in what glitters.”

He gently turned the hat inside out. Pipette bent down to examine the stitches.
That's where she saw it: a tiny, almost invisible detail.
A knot.
The exact point where two sons met to become one.

Rudolf smiled, his muzzle illuminated by a ray of moonlight.
— “This knot… it’s the heart of the hat. It’s where someone joined two threads so they could continue.”

Pipette felt her throat tighten.
— “You mean that… this hat stays on thanks to a tie?”

Rudolf nodded slowly.
— “Like many things with humans. They know how to weave warmth between them. To reconnect what is separated. And when a thread breaks… they tie a knot. Then they carry on. It’s a form of magic. Their own.”

A gentle silence enveloped the workshop.

Ludo finally murmured, with a small glimmer in his eyes:
— “So… each human hat is a little story?”

Pipette replied in a trembling but bright voice:
— “Yes. A story woven by human hands… and one that might just revive the story of Santa Claus.”

The Magic Compass vibrated slightly.
As if a new thread had just been tied in the grand tapestry of their adventure.
